Seasoned professionals Dale Aren and Shari Schleis bring over fifty years of collective experience in marketing, advertising and design. Both apply the corporate project management and leadership skills necessary to deliver quality services on time. While Aren and Schleis are at the helm of the company, a team of specialists provide expertise and manpower as projects require.
Dale Aren, Vice President of Marketing: Dale Aren brings a broad base of more than twenty-five years of expertise in marketing and advertising in both the client and agency arena. Early experience in retail advertising and account management for a daily newspaper provided her the foundation to go on to serve as key accounts/merchandising manager and later, marketing manager, for leading national companies including the Seven-Up Bottling Company. Over her career, Aren has managed several impressive agency clients in industries including banks, auto dealerships, furniture manufacturers, jewelers, galleries, grocery chains and notably, the Houston Astros baseball team, Weyerhaeuser, and Planter's Life Savers. As the owner of a marketing consulting group for nine years, she again served key clients such as The Coca-Cola Company and other soft-drink related industries. Aren's leadership extends to the community. She was the public relations director for a winning city council candidate, served as a board member of the Zonta Club of Charleston and contributes on various civic committees. She joined the Splash Marketing team in early 2002. Aren holds a BA Degree in English and has completed post-graduate studies in business and communications.
Shari Schleis, Principal: Thirty years of graphic design and departmental leadership positions are Shari Schleis' foundation for Splash Marketing, LLC which launched in January of 2000. She developed the award-winning skills of designers and writers. She led the conversion from traditional to electronic production - and from film to digital photography. And she established new creative departments for companies in both the US and UK. For ten years, Schleis has appeared as a guest lecturer in Charleston. She has authored several newspaper and magazine articles. In 2003, Schleis was named the Greater Summerville/ Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year. Her credits also include numerous regional and national design and communication awards. Her most recent accolade? Schleis led a creative team who earned 2010 American Advertising Federation Gold Addy and Printing Industry of the Carolinas Awards. Schleis brings 30 years of career experience to Graphic Design and Web Design & Interactive Media students at The Art Institute of Charleston, where she serves as academic chair for both departments. She is involved in her community, having served on the boards of the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce, the Center for Women, and the SC Small Business Development Center. Schleis holds an Associate Degree in Commercial Art, a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and is completing her Master of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design.
